Questions to ask before you book workplace safety training

A useful safety session starts with the work, not with a slide title. Before you book, write down the tasks people actually do and the incidents you are trying to prevent.

Ask who must attend. A mixed room of visitors and permit issuers usually needs two different sessions. Also ask what the trainer is allowed to say about your site rules. If your permit form or assembly point should be used as the example, send it before the day.

Ask what the session will not cover. Awareness training is not an entry authorisation, a building inspection, or an external certificate. Skill Tech will say which of those limits apply when you enquire.

Finally, agree the place. The Tirur centre suits an open batch. An on-site session needs a room, time away from the tools, and a way for people to hear the trainer. If the site cannot offer that, say so early.
